Established in 1969, the Department of Aerospace Engineering stands at the forefront of fundamental and applied research and development, with a keen focus on scientific and social impact in the country. The department has contributed to manpower training via graduate research programs (PhD and Master of Science by research) as well as course-based programs (M.Tech, Dual Degree and B.Tech).

About the Department

For those who dream of building the next spacecraft or a satellite that senses greenhouse gases or be part of the team developing the next lunar vehicle, the Department of Aerospace Engineering is the place to realise those dreams. The department offers rigorous training both in the theoretical and practical aspects of Aerospace engineering.

During the Third year, the department along with the institute facilitates both corporate and government internships. In addition, there are several research internships available to students.

Alumni from the department have got admissions to some of the top research institutes of the world like Stanford, Caltech, UIUC etc.
